Description of Beautiful White Birds

When it comes to huge tropical leaves, look no further than the white bird of paradise.  Unlike its relative, the better know and smaller orange bird of paradise, this plant grows of to 20 feet tall and 11 feet wide.  Strelitzia folia, also know as the white bird of paradise or wild banana are banana like plants with woody stems.  The leaves are often split along the veins by the wind.  Although too large for many residential yards, it is stunning when given room  I loved the large branching leaves and the way the sunlight peeked through the splits in the leaves and between the woody stems.
