Birth Announcements and Baby Prayers
My baby prayers started as an assignment for a class in Pen and Ink, Pen and Ink Drawing for the Botanical Artist. The assignment was to complete “One Whimsical Illustration of Garden Character(s) with pen, ink and color.
I was expecting a new granddaughter and decide to make my whimsy a celebration of her birth that could be hung in her nursery. Eighteen months later, I had a new grandson so a boy whimsy was in order.
When my friends saw the baby prints, they began ordering the baby prayers personalized as gifts for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren etc. In some cases, they were shower gifts. With the name and birth date unknown, I developed the “Bless This Child” generic prints. The prints have also been made into shower invitations, birth announcements and baby cards. These beautiful and touching pieces can be personalized to commemorate the special day this beautiful bundle of love was welcomed in our lives. These announcements can be printed and framed as wall art or as cards for announcement of congratulations.
